Whenever you leave your hairdresser have you noticed how clean and shiny your hair is?

Hairdressers truly know that there is more to cleaning hair then applying shampoo, rinse and then condition. Hair care is a science and not everyone know's the correct way to wash and manage their hair.

Here I will discuss one or two ways on how you can achieve the same " just left the hairdresser " results at home.

Its time to Detox Your Hair if it looks - tired and lacklustre - it's unmanageable and lacks body - it dries out or gets oily more than usual - it's too tangled for your fingertips to run through from root to tip - you use styling products regularly - you smoke or go to smoky places and you live or work in built-up or polluted areas.

These are just a few examples and often the main cause of dull hair is too much hair product and not enough deep rinsing.

To get the cleanest wash run a comb through your hair before washing to remove tangles, grime and dry skin. Drench hair thoroughly before shampooing - the water helps prevent hair breakages.

Use just enough shampoo to cover a fifty cent coin and no more. Lather the shampoo into your hair from root to tip and massage the scalp gently. Rinse for three or four minutes: when your hair feels clean, rinse for ten more seconds. Once is enough - repeat only if your hair is very grimy.

For perfect conditioning opt for a product specifically tailored to your hair type. Smother conditioner on the hair ends but don't take it to the roots - the natural oils here keep keep them well conditioned.

Standard conditioner only needs to be left in the hair for thirty seconds and no longer, as it acts on the hair instantly. Rinse thoroughly to prevent a sticky build-up and only use a leave in conditioner if your hair is dry, curly or frizzy.
